The assembly is an absolute marvel; it installs in a few minutes on many motorcycle handlebar clamps (3 different bolts are included to acomodate various hole depths) and makes up a flexible arm to which many RAM attachments that take diamond plates can be bolted. Once tightened, the arm is very sturdy, yet thanks to the rubber balls, it dampens vibration down to a negligible level, thus protecting any mounted equipment. The arm assembly is a bit bulkier and heavier than I imagined, but I don't think that my expectations are of any importance.
The only thing that I do not like is that the peg that goes into the hole on the clamp is a bit smaller than the head of the bolt that it replaces -- water will stay in the hole if things are left on their own. I've dried everything up, replaced a factory washer that has started to rust a little, and put a little silicone sealant in the hole -- everything took two minutes of my precious time.
Size of the arm is extremely appropriate, I don't want it to be any longer or shorter; the range of movement suits my needs perfectly. Nevertheless, both shorter and longer arms are available from RAM.
